If your garden prints out about the size of a stamp, please follow these instructions:

1. At the same time, hit the "Ctrl" and "P" keys on your keyboard
2. The print popup window should appear. Then select:

Preferences -> Page Setup -> Landscape -> OK -> Print

This approach will print exactly what appears on your computer screen (WYSIWYG) so make sure you use the Zoom function to capture the entire garden, and hit the "radio buttons" to remove the windows for Plant Info,Veg Sel and Zoom.

Thanks for your patience. The next version of Plangarden will eliminate this annoying workaround!

What do I get when I sign up for the free trial?

You get to use the full version of Plangarden, either the online version, or the download version. You can plan your garden, use all the features, ask support questions or request new features, and interact with other users. For 45 days you are a Plangarden user. We DO NOT sell your information to any third party for any reason. We do occasionaly send users emails to let them know of new features or options in Plangarden. Enjoy!!

Why should I subscribe?

Subscribing allows you to continue to use plangarden. You start where you left off with your trial version. All your work is saved and used from the trial. Now you get the benifit of usin Plangarden throughout the year. You also can look back as previous years gardens and have a full record of your garden for years to come. We are supported by our users, not by advertising or by selling user information.

What happens when I subscribe?

When you subscribe to Plangarden you will be using Paypal to enter your payment information. Paypal is one of the most trust and secure payment methods on the web. None of your information passes through our servers or is kept by Plangarden. When you subscribe you will be set for automatic renewal. This makes it easy for you to continue using Plangarden. If you don't want to be automatically renewed, log into your Paypal account and cancel the subscription.

What are the sytem requirements?

Any computer built in the last 7+ years should be able to run Plangrarden. If you use the web version you will need to have Flash 7 or greater installed. This is a free download from Adobe. The download version does not need to have Flash installed.

I click on "Start Plangarden" and nothing happens!

This normally is caused by a pop-up blocker. These can be from a toolbar like the Google or Yahoo tool bar, or protection programs like Norton or Ad Aware. You need to set Plangarden as a site that allows pop-ups or turn them off when clicking on "Start Plangarden"

What is the difference between using Plangarden on the web and the download version?

Short Answer: Nothing.
Long Answer: Plangarden can run inside your browser. When you click on "Start Plangarden" you start the flash application from your favorite browser. The downloadable version is the same software, just packaged as a program that you start from your computer. Both require that you register to use. Both have a 45 free trial. Both require that you subscribe if you want to use Plangarden after the trial.

How do I install the download version?

There is no install to Plangarden when you get the .exe or .hqx. You can put in on your desktop and run it directly from there. There is no setup, registry changes or files litering your computer.

How do I uninstall the download version?

Simple, delete it. Nothing is really installed on your computer. No registry updates or other changes have been made on your computer. It is like the old days. If you delete the program, it is gone. It is really that simple.

Can Plangarden work without being connected to the internet?

No. Plangarden software stores all your garden information securely on our servers. This means it can not run without being connected to the web. The good side of this is that if your computer ever fails, you don't loose your garden information. If you upgrade computers, all you need to do is log onto the website and there is your virtual garden. If there is a problem with your garden, we can see it and help fix in quickly. There are many advantages to web enabled software. BTW our servers are backuped nightly and stored on multiple machines.

Does Plangarden work on the Mac/Linux/Vista?

Yes. Because Plangarden is a Flash application it works on Macs/Linux and PCs equally well. There are downloadable versions for the Mac and PC.
